Dragons are arguably the most powerful of all the Celtic symbols. They believed that dragons guarded the gate to both the Heavens and the Underworld.
The word "dragon" is derived from the Greek word meaning "to see clearly" and dragons were considered to have the gifts of vision, wisdom, and prophecy.
Y Ddraig Goch (Welsh for the red dragon) appears on the national flag of Wales, and is the most famous dragon in Britain.
